Featured Sessions
Digital Literacy and Collaborative Learning (DLCL) Lightning Round Presentations 9:30am-10:20am
This past fall, with support from an ACS/R1 planning grant, Julian C. Chambliss (Rollins College) and Scot French (University of Central Florida) organized a Digital Literacy and Collaborative Learning Workshop to explore ways to promote community in the classroom, develop collaborative projects, and create digital narratives using methods and tools linked to digital humanities.
This session will feature brief “lightning round” style presentations by participants in the recent DLCL workshop. Each five-minute presentation will provide an overview of the lesson plans they developed based on methods and tools participants explored.
History Harvest 10:30AM-11:20AM
Share ideas and approaches in hosting a History Harvest. Two UCF Doctoral candidates will lead this session based on their active involvement in hosting two local community history harvests as part of the RICHES Mosaic Interface.
GIS Lightning Round 1:30pm-2:20pm
The GIS Lightning Round focuses on the new graduate and undergraduate certificate programs at UCF and some of the humanities- and social sciences-oriented work being produced by faculty and students. This would mimic the Digital Project LightningRound sessions held at THATCamp and the American Historical Association annual meetings, with 3-minute presentations followed (if time allows) by questions and informal discussion.

Because THATCamp is an unconference, the agenda will be decided during the first session of the first day. Read more about how unconferences in general and THATCamp in particular work at THATCamp 101 and our “About” page.
