Lisa Logan received her PhD in English (focus on early American literature) from University of Rochester. Since 1993 she has published on early American literature in such journals as Early American Literature and Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers, and in important essay collections transforming the field of early American literature, including Periodical Literature in Eighteenth-Century America, Feminist Interventions in Early American Studies, A Companion to the Literatures of Early America, and Women's Narratives and the Formation of Empire. Logan has contributed to important pedagogical essay collections for early American scholar-teachers, including Teaching Equiano’s Narrative: Pedagogical Strategies and New Perspectives, Transformations: A Journal of Inclusive Pedagogy, and Approaches to Teaching Uncle Tom's Cabin. She is author of Resources for Teaching the Bedford Anthology of American Literature (Vol. 1), an instructor's manual and companion to the third most widely used American literature anthology in the U.S now in its second edition.
